Wapa License Agreement

Within 30 days of receipt of the interconnection application, WAPA must provide a system impact assessment agreement in which the applicant entity agrees to provide funding to wapA to conduct the study. The applicant organization must sign the agreement within 15 days and return it to wapa, otherwise the application is considered withdrawn. Upon completion of the plant study, WAPA will offer the applicant a construction contract with 30 days to sign and return the agreements to WAPA and make an upfront payment. WAPA cannot be continued without funding. WAPA will design the interconnection, unless WAPA and the requesting entity have agreed otherwise. If wapa and the connecting company benefit from it, the interconnection agreement may issue a call for tenders at the same time as the previous construction agreement. Within 30 days of receiving the results of the System Impact Statement, an undertaking that operates both an interconnection service and a transmission service may apply for an accelerated service contract. This agreement sets out the requirements for initial remuneration.

The accelerated service agreement provides for a contractual agreement for the entire interconnection process, from the study of the plant to operation and maintenance, including the transmission service.
